Worship Time

Children are always welcome in Worship.  As you enter the sanctuary, pick up a Worship Activity Kit found in the black crate at the Ramp Door entry to the sanctuary.

During worship, children sit with their families until the Children’s Sermon.  After their special time up front with our pastor or other presenter, children 5 and under (not in Kindergarten) may be escorted upstairs where we currently provide care in our Worship Time Activity Place.  Older children return to their families for the remainder of our Worship Service

Child Care during Worship and the Church School Hour   The Worship Time Activity Place (Room 210) provides a time of care and play for infants through 5 year olds (pre-kindergarten) during our Worship time.  Staffed by loving volunteers, this room provides a safe, nurturing place for your child while you attend worship.  Children are welcome from the beginning of the Worship Service or may be escorted upstairs by a parent or guardian following the Children’s Sermon.

Children’s Church School

From September through May we offer Sunday School Classes for children age 2 through those in the sixth grade.  Currently we are finishing an exciting study of the New Testament from Faith Alive Resources called Kid ConnectionKid Connection provides large group and small group leaders with material that allow them to share God and His Word with excitement and enthusiasm.  Large group is a time of worship, praise and Bible learning and in small group time our students connect with their small group leaders and dive deeper into the Bible story.  Both times offer reformed teaching that believes every story in the Bible tells us about God and must be understood as a part of the one story of God’s redemption and restoration of this fallen world through Jesus Christ.

Join us on Sundays at 9:30 am.  All ages meet in the Music Suite on the first floor.  Children’s classes dismiss at 10:40 am.
Our 2010/2011 Sunday School Season gets underway on Sunday, September 12, 2010 at 9:30 am with a special kick-off event where all ages may explore the classes we will offer this fall.
Children are picked at 10:40 a.m. at their respective classrooms.

Children’s Ministry Opportunities

As we are called to be a people of God seeking to know Christ and to make Him known, Park desires to minister to and nurture even the youngest among us.  The Children’s Ministries of Park Presbyterian Church prayerfully exist to provide children, both those that have grown up in the church and those new to the Christian faith, with a variety of opportunities to meet Christ face to face, to know of His unceasing love for them, to learn to live lives devoted to Him and to desire to share Him with others.  Fellowship, fun, study, service and worship activities give the kids a place to go and a place to grow as they learn about God and about his faithfulness to all generations.

Journey The Adventure of a Lifetime

Journey34/56 The Adventure of a Lifetime wraps up its second season of ministry at Park.  On the third Friday of each month, we explored the greatness of God in salvation and delved into the Kingdom Parables, played Minute to Win It  and other goofy games, ate gooey and delicious snacks, packed shoeboxes for Operation Christmas Child, made favors for food baskets delivered by congregation to those in need, and helped get ready for Park’s Annual Easter Egg Hunt.  In February we spent the night.  We enjoyed fellowship and fun with leaders and friends alike.  We look forward to beginning our third year together with a Kick-off event sometime in August.

The mission of Journey34/56 The Adventure of a Lifetime is to offer third, fourth, fifth and sixth graders the opportunity to experience a high energy, deeply relational “Jr.” youth group complete with meaningful lessons, crazy games, fun leaders and delicious snacks.  We desire to provide an opportunity for spiritual growth and hope for the children to experience discipleship through small group interactions.  We work on community building through fun and games and will be encouraging evangelism skills as we provide an exciting and safe place for kids to invite their friends.

Please see the Journey link for a copy of the2009/2010 brochure which includes Journey information. The 2010/2011 Brochure will be available soon.
