The Park Church Prayer Ministry is supported by the logo of two trees standing together with an abundant root system. As we work together in prayer it will be our desire that God would root not only our personal lives, but our family lives and corporate church life together in prayer. As we are Rooted in Prayer our Graft to the Heavenly Father, made possible through his son Jesus Christ, will be strengthened and secured. In turn, our lives in Christ will be marked with the Bearing of Abundant Fruit.
You may wonder: Why do we pray? What difference does it make? Does it work, does it matter? Phillip Yancy in his book, Prayer , Does It Make Any Difference? (available in the church library) asks just those questions and responds with these words, “When doubts creep in and I wonder whether prayer is a sanctified form of talking to myself, I remind myself that the Son of God, who had spoken worlds into being and sustains all that exists, felt a compelling need to pray. He prayed as if it made a difference, as if the time he devoted to prayer mattered every bit as much as the time he devoted to caring for people.” We as believers are encouraged to follow Christ’s example, “Jesus clung to prayer as to a lifeline, for it gave him both the guidance and the energy to know and do the Father’s Will. We pray because it does matter. It changes us it broadens our world and draws us closer in relationship not only with our Heavenly Father, but with one another.
Prayer is an incredible privilege and responsibility of the Christian Life. In blessed ways God allows us to cooperate with Him in the unfolding of His eternal purposes when we pray. Park Church is engaged in meaningful prayer ministry. The Intercessory Prayer Room is staffed daily with volunteers who lovingly lift the names of those needing prayer before a Listening Lord. Do you know of someone needing prayer? Is there sickness, or grief around you, is there a prodigal you desire to see come home? Fill out a confidential request for prayer card and know that there will be those sharing your burden and joys.
We at Park Church desire to develop our Hearing Hearts, so that we will know the call of God, we will hear His gentle promptings and we will be able to help those around us discern and understand His voice in our lives. The women of Park Church are invited to join our monthly Women’s Prayer Fellowship the third Saturday of every month at 9:30am in the Memorial Room. We gather together to be strengthened in prayer and fellowship and we gather together to lift the burdens and joys of our congregational and personal lives in prayer. This intergenerational fellowship is open to women of all faith levels. We are eager to be intentional about connecting to our own faith as well as connecting to one another. Join us and share in the fellowship and privilege of prayer!
