General Music Program

As human persons, we are called to worship the God who created us. As Protestant Christians, we emphasize hymnody and preaching in our worship because we believe that our faith must be experienced as well as received individually. Our Protestant emphasis on the individual believer is affirmed in the corporate congregational hymn singing. Just as David praised and prayed in the Book of Psalms, our prayer and praise to our Lord are expressed in music. As David danced with all his might before the Lord when he brought the Ark of God into Jerusalem, we praise God through our voices or instruments and with all our might glorify his name. Music is an integral part of the ministry of Park Church. We are always looking for those who love music and who wish to add their musical talents to our worship life. We believe that the gift of music sincerely given enriches our worship in important ways. Excellence in worship is one of our goals. People at Park Church praise the Lord through various musical groups: children’s choirs: STOP, the youth praise band, Graças, the Celebration in Bronze bell choir, the Chancel Choir and other instrumental groups. Even our pre-schoolers learn to praise God through music.

Come join us! You will:
  • learn more about making music
  • build strong relationships
  • be encouraged in your faith
  • participate in the People’s Song at Park Church

The Chancel Choir sings in worship from September through mid-June and for seasonal concerts and special events. Approximately 40 adults and high school youth make up the membership of this choir rehearsing on Thursdays, 7:30-9:00 p.m. handbell choir

Celebration in Bronze: This handbell choir for adults and youth rehearses Wednesday evenings from 7:15-8:30, and rings in worship several times during the year. Ringers of all abilities are welcome to join.

Instumentalists join in worship to accent the heavenly sound occasionally. Please contact Director of Music if you are interested. Brass, woodwind, string players are welcomed.

Graças is our contemporary music group who sings regularly at worship and other special occasions in order to provide and enhance congregational singing. Most music is contemporary, utilizing praise vocal music accompanied by various instruments; guitar,  drum, flute, and keyboard. Previous singing experience is helpful but not necessary.  Only a desire to worship through music is required.
